12th Annual Sweet Dreams a Success!
For more than a decade, some of Des Moines’ most philanthropic women have gathered to celebrate and support our King Dreamers as they grew from first graders to high school seniors. Our 12th annual Sweet Dreams on Tuesday, April 24 proved to be yet another successful event!

In 2006, the Des Moines “I Have a Dream” Foundation partnered with the 1st grade class at King Elementary School in Des Moines, providing the group of 45 students with academic, social, and emotional support through elementary, middle, and high school. Our King Dreamers are preparing to graduate from high school this year and will receive college tuition assistance as they pursue postsecondary education opportunities.
Sweet Dreams, a festive spring open house event for women, has raised more than half a million dollars for the King Dreamers over the last twelve years. The event leverages friendships to make a big philanthropic impact. This year’s event was our largest ever, celebrating the final year of high school for our 2018 Dreamers and bringing together over 125 women who have overwhelmingly supported our students and programs for many years. Our beautiful host venue at the Lauridsen home provided a stunning backdrop to a spectacular spring evening, and pictures can be viewed here: https://maharryphotography.smugmug.com/Events/The-2018-I-have-a-DREAM-Spring-FUN-Entire-Unedited-Gallery/
